Casco Bay Kayak does not run large group tours or lessons. All tours & lessons are private and uniquely based on your individual interests, tidal conditions, weather and other factors. We strive to create an coastal experience that will create lasting memories.
On our tours, we take advantage of the many local food products to stock our trips - breads, cheeses, meats, sweets and seasonal fruits are all included in our island picnic spreads. This is not your typical kayak tour food.

Private Tour Info & Pricing
Private 3 Hour Tour: This tour leaves from Mitchell Field and will head in the direction of The Goslings Preserve island group for a snack and some exploration. The Goslings is home to osprey, seals, several species of sea birds and the occasional passing harbor porpoise.
$90 per person
Private 3 Hour Oyster Tour: Working with the owners of Love Point Oyster Farm we have put together a tour that leaves from Lookout Point and goes to Upper Goose Island where the farm is located. After a brief talk about the farming process we'll pick up some oysters from the farm and land on Upper Goose to sample them.
$100 per person
Half Day Private Tour With Lunch: Our half day tour runs 4+ hours of on-water time. Casco Bay offers many public access locations to get out of the boats for a stretch and lunch provided by CBK. Snacks usually include a local or home made smoked salmon and or trout, local dry salami and cheeses, bread and seasonal fruits. Gluten free options can be arranged.
$120 per person
Take Half Day Lunch Tour and add an oyster tasting. Leave from the usual Lookout Point location as the Half Day and swing by Love Point oyster farm and pick up some very fresh oysters to go with lunch.

Introduction to Kayaking $80 per person 2 hours
Choosing a boat, safety equipment, paddle technique, we will also discuss trip planning - taking into consideration weather, tide and will cover basic chart reading.
Skills learned can be used in both fresh water and salt water.

Introduction to Kayaking 2 and Rescue $100 per person 4 hours
Reinforcing and expanding on paddle strokes, trip planning for touring. A more in-depth look at chart reading and navigation.
We will also be learning and practicing self and assisted rescue techniques. Bring a towel and a change of clothes. You will be getting wet.
These skills will allow you to explore further from shore with more confidence.

Rescue Technique Refresher Course $50 per person 2 hours
In this course we will be reviewing and practicing self and assisted rescue techniques.
This is for the more experience paddler who has had wet exit and rescue in the past and would like to touch up on those skills with some on water practice.

DIY + A Guide
DIY+ a Guide - Do have your own camping gear but need a local guide with kayaks? We can help with route planning, campsite choice and get you there safe and sound. Whether you're visiting Maine or a local, Casco Bay Kayak wants to get you places you might not go without a guide. Having a trained local guide can expand your range and exposure to conditions if you choose. Or cruise the inland passages among Casco Bay's many islands.
Winter Paddling
Winter Paddling in Maine is not only possible but beautiful. There are certain criteria that must be met for a winter trip. The customer must have a dry suit or appropriate wetsuit, the air temp must be above 45F, calm winds and full sunshine. Otherwise it's just not fun.
