CBK grew out of a love for the ocean and a desire to share that with fellow Mainers and our Native Maine with those "from away" as we say. Harpswell offers endless options for kayaking that allows us to customize our trips depending on your abilities and interests. Want a nice easy day cruise with beautiful scenery, calm waters and nature talks? No problem. Or maybe pushing the edge of your comfort zone with a knowledgeable and trained guide is what you're looking for. We love that.
Hi, I'm Eric Hopkins owner of Casco Bay Kayak, a Maine Native and Registered Maine Guide. I grew up on the Maine coast and like a lot of Mainers have had a variety of jobs over the years. The one constant being the sea. I have a water loving family, sailboats, canoes and small boats are a part of life in Maine. I became a guide to share my love of the ocean and my home state with others. Getting people close to nature and wildlife, taking people to places they wouldn't go on their own and seeing people experience something for the first time is why I started CBK.
Myself and any additional Guides are Registered Maine Guides with a specialty in Sea Kayaking and are First Aid trained. Maine is the only state that requires licencing of guides through Inland Fish and Wildlife.
Finn Hopkins-O'Neil is a Maine native and graduate of the University of Maine, Farmington. After several years of working ski lifts and making snow at night though college, Finn decided the sunshine and ocean breezes were better working conditions.
Finn enjoys long romantic moonlit walks on the beach by himself, the musical stylings of Enya, Nickelback, and Celine Dion, collecting cardboard boxes, making pillow forts and letting his father/boss write his bio.
Finn is an avid hiker, snowboarder, multi instrument musician and all around good egg.
We look forward to hosting you on the waters of Casco Bay. Click below to fill out our short questionnaire to book a trip or lesson.
